There are nine of us on the bar right now, and most days you’ll see three at a time — one on espresso, one on the register, one floating. We thought we’d introduce a few of the people whose hands have probably touched your cup.
Maya has been here the longest. She started as a part-time closer in our second year and now runs training and quality. She’s the reason our latte art looks the way it does, and the reason we weigh every shot. Off the clock, she’s working on a roastery certification and rides her bike to work in basically any weather.
Jules joined two summers ago and instantly became the patron saint of the Monday opening shift. They write the chalkboard puns, remember every regular’s drink (and their dog’s name), and bake the lemon-poppy loaf you’ve been seeing on the pastry case. If a shift is running, Jules is probably running it.
Theo came over from a roastery in Tulsa last fall. He brought a deeper espresso program with him and a habit of testing new drinks on the staff at 6 AM before they’re allowed coffee themselves. The brown-butter horchata latte you keep ordering? That was a Tuesday morning Theo experiment.
We could go on — Priya, Sam, Devon, Ari, Marcus, Lou — and we will, in upcoming posts. The short version is: this place is the people. The drinks are good because the team is good, and the team is good because they actually like being here. We work hard on that. Thanks for being part of why it feels like home.
